Journal Entry - APRIL

Due MAY 20th at 11:59 PM 🐴📝

Your APRIL journal should be at least 250 words and include honest updates on your horse’s progress this month — the wins, challenges, setbacks, breakthroughs, and anything new you’re noticing or learning as your partnership continues to develop.

As you write, think about:

  • What feels more consistent than last month

  • What is still difficult or unpredictable

  • How your communication and connection with your horse is changing

  • One specific goal you want to work toward next month

Please include:

  • Conformation photos from all four sides (front, back, left, right)

  • A 2–5 minute progress video showing what you’ve been working on this month

These journals are meant to help you track growth over time and reflect on your journey with your horse. The more honest and detailed you are, the more meaningful they’ll be when you look back later.

April with Luna went as well as it could. Lately I have just been trying to keep consistent with training and that has been going well. The biggest issue we are facing currently is just sometimes Luna just does not want to engage and work, and she really makes that known. Luna has gotten significantly better with water, and she is much better about spraying her face. She has also pretty much gotten over the trailer loading issues we were having I just need to start loading her into different trailers to get her ready for state, I started doing more pole work with her and I am working on obstacles. I have noticed the past month she has gotten less reactive about new things. Honestly some days just feel repetitive with Luna, so I am really trying to find ways to mix up our training while also being productive. Her Spanish walk has gotten much better, and she can side pass over poles. next month I definitely need to do more ground driving so we can include that in the routine. I have noticed she has gained a lot of energy lately and will run and play with me like a dog which is always fun. I also was able to pony her on my other horse and she did really well. I would like to take her to different environments and get her more used to an audience. She seems to feel great and she definitely looks fat and shiny!
